How to Set Up Google Analytics in Tamil – Step by Step Guide ?

Setting up Google Analytics (GA4) is essential to understand who visits your website, where they come from, and what actions they take.

What Is Google Analytics (GA4)?

Google Analytics is a free Google tool that helps you:

  • Track website visitors
  • Measure traffic sources
  • Understand user behaviour
  • Track conversions (leads, sales, clicks)

In simple words:
Google Analytics tells you how people use your website.

What You Need Before Setup

Before starting, make sure you have:

  • A live website
  • A Google (Gmail) account
  • Access to website backend / WordPress / Google Tag Manager

Step 1: Go to Google Analytics

  1. Visit  https://analytics.google.com
  2. Log in with your Google account
  3. Click Start measuring
  • Account Name: (Example: My Business Analytics)
  • Account Data Sharing: Keep default settings
  • Click Next

One account can contain multiple websites.

Step 3: Create a GA4 Property

  • Property Name: (Your website name)
  • Time Zone: Select correctly (cannot change later)
  • Currency: Choose your business currency
  • Click Next

Choose time zone & currency carefully.

Step 4: Enter Business Details

Step 6: Install Google Analytics Tracking Code

Method 2: Install via Google Tag Manager (Recommended )

  • Open Google Tag Manager

  • Publish container

Step 7: Verify Google Analytics Is Working

  • Open Reports → Realtime
  • Visit your website in a new tab
  • If you see active users → Setup is successful 

Step 8: Enable Enhanced Measurement (Important)

GA4 automatically tracks:

  • Page views
  • Scrolls
  • Outbound clicks
  • File downloads
  • Video engagement

Make sure Enhanced Measurement is ON.

Step 9: Set Up Conversions (Optional but Important)

Examples:

  • Form submissions

Mark important events as Conversions inside GA4.
